About
The GFWC Manchester CT Women's Club is affiliated with the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Connecticut and the General Federation of Women's Clubs, an international organization over 128 years old!
The Manchester Women's Club provides outlets for volunteer service, community projects, and recreational and educational activities. Membership is open to any area woman age 18+ who wants to meet other women, make a difference in our community, and have fun!
Membership is $30 annually. Partial and full sponsorships are available. We want any woman who wants to join us, be able. We are, after all, here to empower and lift each other up!
Since becoming a club in 2018, we have worked on many projects:
-
Little Free Libraries
-
Rebuilding Together
-
The Purse Project
-
MACC Food Pantry
-
Caps for cancer patients
-
Blankets for kids
-
Local Park Cleanup
-
Book club and dinner club…. and so much more!
The Manchester Women’s Club meets on the third Monday of each month, September - June, at Center Congregational Church, 11 Center St.. We typically have a speaker from the local community followed by our business meeting. The business meetings are short, followed by a community project of sorts such as letter or card writing, hats for cancer patients and no-sew blankets! Anyone is welcome (and encouraged!) to attend our meetings.
Additionally, members have the opportunity to attend conferences and meetings hosted by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs around the state.
Make new friends and help the community! Gain leadership skills, network, volunteer, and have fun!
We form lasting friendships and enjoy each other’s company - Girls’ Night Out and other fun day trips are just some of the ways we get together in addition to doing good work for the community!
We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: To improve the Manchester community through service, friendship, and support!
The General Federation of Women's Clubs
GFWC is a nonprofit community service organization with many levels of leadership and membership. The Executive Committee and Board of Directors represent GFWC members on a national scale. The Board of Directors consists of Region Presidents, State Presidents, State Directors of Junior Clubs, Committee Chairmen, Committee Members, and Special Appointments.
GFWC has members in each of the 50 states. State Federations host individual conferences each spring. We are members of both the international GFWC, and GFWC/CT.
On a local level, GFWC is comprised of nearly 3,000 local clubs, Manchester being one. Each club elects officers and works independently on various projects in their community.
